The Central Berks Regional Police Department has a new chief.
Anthony C. Garipoli Sr., a 22-year veteran of the force, was named police chief as of April 10.
With support from both the Mount Penn Borough Council and Lower Alsace Board of Commissioners, the Central Berks Regional Police Commission voted 6-0 to appoint Garipoli as the new chief.
